B'NEI MITZVAH aka B MITZVAH AT DOR HADASH
The b'nei mitzvah year (when a child turns 13) (aka b mitzvah) is a very meaningful time in a Jewish child's life. At Dor Hadash, the whole family and community celebrate together. Our students lead the Shabbat morning service, read from the Torah and Haftarah, and share personal thoughts about how their Torah portion relates to their lives today. The 6th and 7th grade families host the oneg and kiddush lunch at each celebration.
Students work one-on-one with Rabbi Yael. Sixth and seventh graders attend an additional hour of Gesher during which they focus on Jewish values and preparing for b'nei mitzvah. Both in-person and zoom options are available for this class.
We look forward to sharing this milestone with your family!
