DOR HADASH CARES

Thank you to members of Dor Hadash for entertaining, providing and serving dinner at the Rose Canyon Safe Parking Lot once a month.
Members of Dor Hadash helped serve a meal and enjoy games with the families on July 13.

ANTI-ICE PROTESTORS MARCH THROUGH DOWNTOWN SAN DIEGO
​ON FIRST DAY OF COMIC-CON

The day began outside the Federal building on Thursday, July 23. Rabbi Mike and members of Dor Hadash joined with ICE Out San Diego. Rabbi Mike commented: "Never in a million years did I expect to be quoted in Entertainment Weekly, but here we are. (Thanks to Ryan Coleman for the writeup.) Yesterday's observance of Tisha B'Av at the Federal Building in downtown San Diego was deeply powerful. Thank you to our speakers, Councilmember Sean Elo-Rivera and Maria Chavez from Partnership for the Advancement of New Americans - PANA. Yasher koach to Alyssa for co-organizing, to Laura Kristen for making the beautiful memorials for those killed by ICE, to our amazing Immigration team at Congregation Dor Hadash of San Diego — Avita, Shalem, Janna, Josh, Megan, Carla, Alan, Dain, Rachael and everyone else who made this happen. AND to genius Salvador G Sarmiento from National Day Laborer Organizing Network who had the brilliant idea to march down to Comic-Con. Read the article here.

Faith leaders lead hundreds of San Diegans in peaceful protest through Barrio Logan

People from congregations all over the county marched together through Barrio Logan. There were priests, ministers, an imam – and three rabbis, current Dor Hadash rabbi Mike Rothbaum, and past Dor Hadash rabbis Alexis Pearce and Yaffa-Shira Sultan, joined by many Dor Hadash members.
