Building Jewish Identities. Creating Jewish Memories.

B'nai Mitzvah at Dor Hadash

Picture
The b'nai mitzvah year (7th grade) is a very meaningful time in a Jewish child's life, and at Dor Hadash, the whole family and community celebrate together.  Our students lead the Shabbat morning service, read from the Torah and Haftarah, and share personal thoughts about how their Torah portion relates to their lives today.

Students work one-on-one with Rabbi Yael, and the 6th and 7th grade families host the oneg and kiddush lunch at each celebration.

Sixth and seventh grade students attend Gesher classes on Sundays and Tuesdays. The students learn in a group setting with Holly Gail Baumann and Rabbi Yael.  Each student will design their own yad (pointer, pictured above) with which they will read from the Torah.

We look forward to sharing this milestone with your family!
