Adult education is as important to us as educating our children. Here are our upcoming Adult Ed classes:
Into the Water on Dry Land: Stepping into the Sea of Social Justice without Drowning
While pursuing justice is deeply Jewish, that doesn’t mean it’s easy. In this class we’ll draw upon Jewish teachings to cultivate not just effectiveness, but also sensitivity and kindness in the struggle for justice. In addition, we’ll look at teachings that support those who are facing the spiritual travails of this work, foes like exhaustion, alienation, and burnout.
The first hour Rabbi Mike will lead us in a reflective workshop to nourish our spirits as we continue our work in the movement for social justice. The second hour will provide time for the Social Justice Team working groups to share what they are working on and how the community can get involved.

Words that Shape the World: Middot, Mussar, and the Language of Jewish Values
Chesed, kavod, tzedek, tikvah — the Jewish world is full of words that have influenced our lives and our communities. But what do they mean? Can we use this Jewish vocabulary to heal our broken world? Join us for a discussion of our lexicon of Jewish values, and how to use Jewish values to make decisions we can be proud of.

Standing Up and Speaking Truth: Personal & Communal Paths of Jewish Resistance
These days, many Jews find themselves on the front lines of the struggle for justice and fairness. But our current national moment is far from the first time that Jews have been stood up for their principles. Jewish resistance has taken many forms throughout history. Join us as we look at Jewish expressions of resistance, both in text and history. Our study will culminate in the creation of our own statements of Jewish resistance.

Periodically throughout the year, Rabbi Mike offers an opportunity to study text in a social setting at a member's home. Refreshments served including many non-alcoholic beverages. First session is scheduled off-site for September 27.

Torah Study
Study the week's parsha with Rabbi Mike one or two Saturdays a month throughout the year. Check our on-line calendar for dates. Kehillah
At the start of each Gesher Sunday session, adults join our children at a Kehillah (community) Gathering for a brief learning opportunity before the beginning of students' Gesher class. |
One Book One Congregation
Members meet in person every two months offsite to discuss a Jewish-themed book chosen by our members. Hebrew for Adults
